Still suffering the sting of betrayal and humiliation by her ex-husband, Mark, Jan Brenner is given the opportunity to extract her "pound of flesh." Driven by an obsessive need for vengeance, she concocts a scheme to expose Mark as the legitimate father of a child born to his mistress. Hardened by bitterness, and aided by modern science, she mines the depths of her deeply rooted anger. Seeking her own absolution for having had an abortion, Jan struggles with her conscience and the concept of forgiveness. A Second Chance is the much anticipated sequel to Ms. Weiner's prior novel Cheater's Choice.
