Norma Glick has been longing for something better ever since her mother died, leaving her in charge of a household with four siblings. She dares to dream of Trevor Schwartz-with his tender smile and easy-going ways-as part of her future. But when her aging Onkel Silas, comes to stay in their home, Norma finds herself forced to give up all her dreams. Silas's demands consume her days, and as he gets older and sicker, her resentment grows. But Norma is about to find out that God has more in mind for her than frustration and exhaustion. Silas is all part of a plan-a plan to show her what truly matters. A plan to show Norma the scope of compassion, the breadth of grace, and the goodness of being needed.
