Murder lurks among the ivy-covered walls of Fresno City College. Who could have strangled history professor Layla al-Masri? Her husband? Her lover? One of the students who routinely argued with her in class? Perhaps Zionist blogger Dov Silver finally turned his acrimonious words into action? Sgt. Katie Kelly devoutly hopes not, since Silver is the husband of her best friend. As popular a teacher as she was, it turns out that there are many motives for al-Masri's murder, but unfortunately there are just as many alibis. Kelly and her partner Sgt. Isaac Flores diligently explore all the possibilities, but when it begins to look like no one could have done it, Kelly's friends from the Tuesday Afternoon Quilters, with their needle sharp acuity and eye for unusual patterns, once again point her in the right direction.
