Based on a true and tragic story. In the final installment of the Power & Justice series, Lauren Floyd faces a case that life and the ancestors have been preparing her for. A case that is a dark reminder of the past. In 1841, Solomon Northup, author of 12-years a slave, was kidnapped and enslaved. He was born a free black man, but it was the evil of racism that held him in bondage. Stealing years of his life from him. Fast forward to modern times, to a young black boy from Chicago named Sharif Howard. A born free African-American that was arrested and held captive by the system. Shadows of the same system that abducted Solomon Northup. Lauren has been called upon once more for battle. A battle that she was born to fight.
